About eBay seller protection

Hi,

I am seling quantity sale on ebay and per item price is $720 USD

Today a the buyer bought 5 item

Ebay policy says "Signature confirmation, if an item has a total cost of $750 or more"

What is mean "if an item has total cost of $750"

Am i need signature confirmation for 5 X item for $750 when was buy same buyer?

Personally I would post each one separately with signature confirmation to be safe

That's what I would do as well. Otherwise they could claim there were only 2 of the five pieces in the box and they'd win.

They could also claim any of the 5 boxes were empty, and win..... Ask me how I know.

Putting all eggs in one basket can be bad. At the same time, sending out 5 separate packages can end up with a greater likely hood of one of those packages being lost. The former has greater loss potential. The latter has a greater potential for loss.

Insure the packages and then your covered against a package going lost

Really only a very very small % of packages actually get lost in the system so the chances are still very very small of one going missing

then I guess I'm at the other end of that bell curve, as I've had many.

Royal Mail or whatever they use over there must be 10x more reliable than USPS, lol. Something like 1% of our shipments go missing in one way or another. Certain areas of the country are terrible about losing packages - probably due to shady USPS employees. I've become fond of adding insurance to valuable shipments.

To the OP - I personally try to send orders in as few packages as possible. If you decide to send everything in one box takes pictures of every single step as you're filling the order, including when you affix the shipping label. That way if a case is opened you will have photographic evidence to support you. This isn't a sure fire way of avoiding a buyer scam but photographic evidence will make it less likely for your buyer to pursue a case any further.

Also, no matter how you decide to send the items, fully insure the shipment(s). It would really hurt you to lose $3600 because DHL or Fedex lost your package. It's rare for either of those couriers to make mistakes but it does happen. I've received DHL shipments on two occasions with someone else's address on them.

I mail around 1,000 package a month. Here in the US my non-receipt rate hovers between .5-1%.

Sometimes it's doubtlessly due to buyer error in addressing things, some people just don't seem to know where they live, some forget to update their addresses when they move, etc. And sometimes I'm sure it's somehow my fault as well.

However, I do find that the Priority Mail class and particularly packages that are insured almost never disappear, ( can't think of any at all right now ) and always get scanned at delivery, they take them far more seriously than USPS First Class.
