restricted for selling outside of ebay
 

hi
i had a few warnings and finally got restricted for 7 days, next 1 is permanent i think.
do these things ever run off like in a year can i message people about doing business outside of ebay and receive a warning?
not that i will do this, i am just saying i dont wanna be on a thread with my business haha

anyone know about this?

Next one is usually 30 days, although it can be permanent

It used to be 3 months but now days its pretty one warning, 1 x 7 day limitation, 1 x 30 day limitation and then a perm limitation no matter the time frame (as far as I can tell!)

1 Warning = 7 days . But if you continued 3rd party work or breaking rules they can ban

you permanent without giving any warning

yeah i remember getting a warning but i just disregarded it.
so i get a month next then, do these ever run out though? like after a year it'll reset back to one warning etc?

You can get a perm ban next time as well. Its either perm ban or 30 days.

As mentioned it used to be mark on your account for 3 months, but now it seems to just be forever

The warning doesn't expire.

Ya be careful I got 2 warnings then a 7 day restriction and then permanently banned. That is not a good message to wake up to lol. I would start learning stealth and get some new accounts. Let that one cool down for a little bit.

my experience. I got one warning, then one 7 days restriction, then 2 suspensions, after each suspension you should call them and explain whats happen and then they reinstate your account.
final suspension was because I agree to meet and sell outside of EB and bamm ! I got indefinitely suspension.

Not sure what your goals on eBay are... if you are just trying to sell one or 2 things or actually have an ebay business...

if you are serious selling on eBay, you need to follow the stealth guide.

If you're doing something wrong, and you get caught and told if you do it again you're finished, JUST STOP DOING IT!!!!

I respectfully disagree. JUST DO IT RIGHT!!! should be the sentence here.

Every deal you can get outside of ebay or amazon gets you some independence. but you need to be smart about it, and know what you are doing.

I don't want to go into much detail here, but as a hint: ask yourself which messages between you and the potential buyer ebay can read and which it can't read.

There's an option in all of our eBay accounts to "require a phone number at checkout." For a long-term business it's a good idea to build up a base of your better customers who can contact you any time directly.

Let me add I have done outside sells in the past with no problems u have to do it right as not messaging phone numbers. Emails are all right but u want to get creative so the message sends sometimes they will block it. Example at g mail com . In my experience if your not doing it every sale u will be good.
Like listed above it can be left in a note for future business.

Not unfair, but let's come on down on the bottom line here.

You and I can take sales off EB all day long with no problem. The issue isn't us and what we can do. The issue is the OP.

This person, after 3 warnings and a suspension, either isn't smart enough or careful enough to take sales off EB without getting caught three times.

Seriously guys, what's going to change here?

There's no shame in not being a big dog, but if you're a small dog you need to understand that and stay on the porch where it's safe. :)
