Which Photo Style Works Best For Ebay?

So I'm wondering what style of photo is better for Ebay listings currently. Whether they be in the style of 'hey I took this with my phone/camera, and I'm a average-joe seller.. so buy my stuff'

OR

The Amazonesque style where the product photo should be super professional, or at least have the background removed.

Thoughts?

I always use my own photos taken myself.

Me too. Professional-ish photo's I've taken myself have always done 10x better than stock photos in my experience.

Agree, I made myself a 16 x 16 x 16 box for my items...I don't sell large items so it's perfect.

that is a great idea. just don't have a bunch of junk laying around in the background lol. You want a nice white background so your item can be seen clearly.

Those white boxes work great.

Believe it or not if you have a white bathtub, at the right angle you can get some really nice looking pics of your items in there.

I like any color except white for most goods for ebay. I want to stand out from the crowd. Camo, black, pink, etc.....
