Do eB/PP share SSN/EIN?
 

I have an old eBay account that was restricted, and I'm not sure if I ever provided my EIN. It was a while ago, and I may have. But I never shared it with the corresponding PP account.

Fast forward to today to some new accounts, and I'm thinking of upgrading my PP to a biz account. I'd like to provide my old EIN, but my concern is that eBay may have already shared this info with PP for the previous, restricted account.

I assume it would be a huge violation of personal rights to do so, but I'd rather know for sure. Does anyone know?

Well considering the fact they are technically the same company and do share a lot of other info it is quite possible that they would share that although to be honest i dont know (or think) that they do that particular piece of info.
If you want to be cautious just get a new EIN and avoid the stress.

Or, to put it another way:

eBay IS PayPal.
PayPal IS eBay.

They are essentially the same company despite their "split". Don't assume anything- they always share lots of data with each other. Read your User Agreements.

If you believe that ebay or paypal cares about violating your personal rights, you haven't been dealing with them long enough

You gave up any right to privacy and most personal rights the moment you logged into and created an account on EB and PP.
