Leaving accounts dormant for a while - thoughts?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience in this - I have a number of accounts I've been using, which have a good history. However due to my current circumstances I don't have the time to be using eBay much, and certainly not all accounts. I was thinking about just using one account for the time being, to keep things ticking over, and keep the other accounts dormant for time being. Now I would be coming back to these accounts at some point, but I was wondering if there would be any issues when I start using one of the dormant accounts again, would I have to treat it like a new account? Or can I sort of pick up from where I left off?

Any advice or thoughts appreciated

Thanks

I would imagine that if you let them sit dormant "too long" eBay will treat them as new accounts once you start selling on them again.

If I were you, once you come back to an account after letting it sit for more than 90 days or so, take it easy and slow. In other words, treat it as a newer account with lower history. Same with PayPal.

Pretty much what the guy above said. How long will you be leaving them dormant? A few months may be no issue.

A few month isn't an issue you can pick up from where you left off.

A few years and they can ask for documents sometimes and you then have to go back to taking it slowly

I would try to sell a item here and there on the accounts even if you leave them dormant

Cheers for the replies. I suppose I would be leaving them for anywhere between 2 and 6 months, so not massively long. If its likely to cause issues coming back to them after that time, then maybe its wise to just keep a few items on them and just downscale until I have more time?

2-6 months shouldn't be any problem, especially if you are keeping all the cookies and logging in from the same computer/user account

idk, I left one of my accounts for 5 months and I pretty much had to go slow again... as if I just started a new account

As long as it isn't 1 year then you are good to go

A month or two or even six doesn't seem to matter.

Longer than that it feels like you're having to start over again.

Why not alternate months or weeks, one week use one account next week use another. Or by month. That way no account is left that long completely dormant
