Could ebay have accidently helped us?? Thoughts PLEASE.

Please have a look...thoughts are appreciated.

This is was a press release TODAY.

nbbusinessjournal.com - Ebay cuts auction listing fees for casual sellers | RACHEL METZ - Breaking News, New Brunswick, Canada

It's a Canadian article but it seems to imply that it will apply to all countries.

If you have +/- 10 accts - this could solve a few problems.

Some issues this may touch:

listing slow now pays,
no up front costs,
keeps your accts under the radar,
you really can ACT like a part time newbie ebayer with their blessing,

etc...

Could FBay have accidently helped us?? Thoughts PLEASE.

Thank you! This is a great idea. If I want to try this approach, what router would you suggest that I use, that won't cost a fortune? I currently use DLS and have a combination modem/router made by verizon.

Thanks.

It's amazing they actually recognize that the majority of their sellers are casual and small sellers, such as myself. I thought they were trying to get rid of us. I find it hard to believe that we are in anyway valuable to them. Maybe they are turning a corner. ???

I saw a ebay special on tv the other day and they talked about how they are losing so much money now and there stocks are dropping maybe btw paypal is killing ebay IMO with there weak seller protection they are recognizing we the sellers are making them money off listing fee's and commission fee's

I am confused with new fee schedule where it talks about final value to be 8.75 per cent now with cap of $20. Does that mean if I sell something for $1150, the final value fee would be only $20? Almost too good to be true..........:pout:

I wonder how you access or 'choose' the new fee structure, it isnt operating on my current auctions, anymore info? is this all ebay sites or just main one?

Thanks.

I would search/read the "IP address" sections of this board...a wealth of info there.

I doubt this was to "help" anyone but themselves.

I'm just researching whether they have accidentally given us a loophole we can use to our advantage.

Paypal's revenue growth will outpace ebay's. If you read the latest financial reports, it's PP and not eBay that's growing. Either way, I cannot see this as eBay intentionally helping the smaller sellers. Rather, I see this as a disguised attempt at doing so. Time will tell.

You know what they say, "If it sounds too good to be true...".
Further investigation is needed before we can figure out their motive and practical applications of this proposal.

Not sure how this will get rolled out. The original article did mention something about sellers having a choice.

This discount doesn't work if you go through auctiva, only directly through eBay.

And the 8.75 doesn't go to 6% and then 4% like normal but it could end up being more unless it's really expensive and you hit the $20 cap.

You probably can't now, since new rules starts June 15th. After that, I think there should be an option where you create your listing.

This is not a Good system to have multiple accounts and "act as a newbie" You will be charged more! UNLESS you are selling crap that doesnt sell half the time.. but if you are selling stuff that will sell you will end up and pay more!
