Counterfeits Vs VERO
 

Hi Everyone,

A great forum to be a member of so I thought will give my first post a try.

I recently had two different listings removed by eBay at two different times. One was for the reason of selling Counterfeits ( Which is not ) and the Second for VERO.

My question is how do listings get flagged for Counterfeits or VERO (Does some competitor or buyer report them ) and what is the main difference between the two.

the 1st one is not as "bad" as the 2nd one... the 2nd one means your screwed :rip: ..... number of ways to get flagged... eby members...brand reps.... eby staff... etc etc etc

So what makes them decide if the listing is being a Counterfeit or is a VERO Violation.

I agree, under the VERO program there are many avenues to having your listings messed with assuming what you are selling meets that standard.

As far as selling foofoo (counterfeit) items is concerned, it's a little more complicated. Depends on the item(s) you are selling, how much, etc... Even if you sell some replica watches for example, knowing they are, you probably get what you deserve. On the other hand, assuming your ⊗⊗⊗⊗ goods are so good, few buyers complain or demand their money back, you might be ok.

That said, advocating selling VERO or Counterfeits is not what this forum is about. Doing so is not only against EB/PP's terms of service, but might be crossing legal lines depending on where you live.

VERO: VERO agent request for the item to be taken down.
Counterfeit: Either you get snitched on or Ebay uses their algorithm and software to decide if your item is counterfeit, you can always call Ebay to ask them for more information.

VERO take down - your item is real but taken down because the rights holder doesn't want it listed

Counterfeit take down - you got caught selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items.

Yup, avoid VERO.
Counterfeits also, but I guess they're stricter if you get hit with VERO
