I Still Use VPNs Guys... Heres Why? (PLEASE RESPOND)
 

I use VPN's but I'm in the USA (Don't Ask, It Works 5 yrs and going). However some (Not all) of my accounts have gone down eventually. So I was in the neighborhood doing research and noticed the forum members saying VPN's are bad. This is not new but what they were saying is "VPN's are only best for overseas stealthers" and since I'm home I have the home field advantage with access to more solid methods like Dongles, Tethering, VPS, Dail-Up, etc.

Well I like My VPN Method Because;
----------------------------------
1. I Get Different IP each time (I know, I know, Blah blah heard it all)
2. Let's Me Use One Computer For All My eBays and PayPals (Super Convenient)
3. When I open a new windows user account per stealth, BAM! the VPN software already there (Talk About Meant To Be)
4. I don't have to manually configure anything when switching between accounts, I just log out of "Guest 1" and log into "Guest 2". Nothing else. (Ease of Access)

So I'm a bit lazy as you can tell however, works for me. Since I do have home field advantage though I figure I might as well decrease my lost % and see what's out there. So before I learn or begin a NEW method I would like to know from you users of those methods if I'll be able to keep THE EASE OF ACCESS I have grown accustomed to and What benefits in ease of access will I gain and/or lose per method?

Helpful notes
----------------
1. I have Comcast Xfinity Internet with a wireless router modem.
2. Even without that I still have access to the xfinity Wifi hotspots nationwide
3. I have a T-Mobile 4G Unlimited Phone Plan. My Tether is unlimited and last I checked I get a new IP each time I turn off/on data.

There is nothing wrong with vans i use them for all my accounts never got linked i loss them due to bullsh!t tho anyone tha tells you otherwise is bull

It's not that VPN's in gereral are bad to use. When I refer to "VPN" I am talking about the underlying technology of the Virtual Private Network, or the connection type.

What REALLY matters is the IP range that VPN provider is using. I mean the IP block pool assignment. Some IP's are just plain bad to use because of misuse/abuse.

I'm sure there are some VPN providers that use good (and CLEAN) IP ranges too.

The IP you use is just one factor in a number of things eBay/PayPal take into consideration when applying restrictions and limitations. They know when you're using a VPN and millions of people use them on a daily basis, to say they'd apply restrictions/limits to your accounts just for using one is ludicrous.

The trap people fall into when running stealth accounts is making them stick out like a sore thumb. They'll use a VPN with shared IP, a VCC from Entropay, a prepaid bank account, try to withdraw funds too quick etc... then post in this forum wondering why their account is limited.

Can you run stealth accounts successfully on VPN's with shared IP's? Yes of course. But is it advised? No, because it's just one more thing that makes you stand out from the average eBay seller.

Here's my counter to your "advantages" of using a shared IP VPN;

1. You can get this from a dongle or tethering. Plus it's very very unlikely the IP from your mobile network provider is going to raise flags on your accounts where as a shared VPN can.

2. You can do this while using a dongle, tethering or a VPN with dedicated IP.

3. There's no need for software if you tether.

4. OK you got me on this one, you save a few seconds that it takes me to turn my mobile phones airplane mode on and off again. But I'd rather that than have another factor to worry about that could potentially lead to the closer of one of my accounts.

JohnWall, you make some very valid points.

I think doing ANYTHING that makes you stand out from the average eBay seller is what you try and avoid. As you've said, it's the combination of factors that can contribute to problems, not so much as using a public IP or VPN by itself.

How do you manage with VANS? You have monkies or pigeons that run from your place to eBay and return?

I love posts of not talking bull when there is bull in it already.

Thanks for the comment I think we all know this was a vpn typo but it was a nice spin on it none the less

tethering works the best for me, just keep down data of ip in a a log and delete user accs when it dies

I agree however I don't delete the user account until both the eBay and PayPal dies. If the eBay dies then that User Account will now be primarily for the surviving paypal and/or other accounts I register with that email like a amazon seller account, Gmail, etc.

How do you get a new ip if you keep tethering with no vpn? Do you have multiple tethering phones or hot spots?

Many cellphone carriers automatically give up a new IP address each time you refresh your network (Turning Airplane Mode off and then back on). This eliminates the need of a VPN. If you have a cellphone with data you can go give it a try. Good luck! I definitely will be giving this method more attention in the near future.
