Need Suggestion Please ... SSN
 

Hi Everyone,

I bought this Stealth eBay.com account from one of the sellers here at marketplace. Unfortunately i dont see that that buyer here anymore. I have a situation, to which i dont have an idea.

PP attached to that account have just asked me to update the SSN. And i have no idea how to go about it. i will appreciate if anyone can either reply here or PM me, regarding their advice on how to go about this.

So you have purchased a US stealth account?

What sparked the request for this type of info? What was happening with the account?

You could attempt to supply tax info. But that costs and if the account might still go down , you need to think of the options.

I'm a little confused to your question, you bought the account from a seller in here, but the "buyer" is gone?

Frankly this is something the seller should have educated or at least warned you about before allowing you to move forward with an account purchase.

All US accounts have to give a tax ID in order to receive more than 200 sales in a year. The only way around for a non-US citizen is to get an ITIN from IRS and file taxes each year that way.

Or you could just stop selling until next year and the SSN request will go away.

This issue is covered in the stealth guide - which you have.
Your only option is to add an EIN if you wish to continue using the account without an issue - that will also mean youll start paying taxes on it.
Your other option as mentioned above is to stop using the account for this year and start up new accounts (either open them yourself or buy them) and spread your sales. Thats a good way to hedge your risk as well

Yes GB ...... I bought stealth US account from marketplace seller Jeffico.
Account is going well now, but suddenly PP has asked me about the SSN number. I have no clue how to tackle that issue or what to do. Dont wanna loose the account as it has picked up now.

It's already the end of the year. Assuming there's nothing wrong with your Paypal account aside from this tax limitation, you can just take your listings down for a month and a half and then start receiving payments again in 2018.

Until new legislation is passed in USA to fix this loophole the "200/$20,000 threshold" resets each year. Meaning you can sell up to 200 items on a US stealth Paypal account without providing a tax ID. Also meaning the Tax ID request you're seeing on your account now will go away on 1/1/18.

Many users here sell on markets where they don’t live.


I think jeffweico would have given his buyers more than adequate info to handle the account.

Whitestone did you have any spikes in sales or disputes?

The info from phaz0rz is correct. You need to be really sure there are no issues,however.

I haven't seen a post from Jeff in over three years.

That's quite a while back, he may not remember all the details from that long ago, plus some specifics may have changed slightly.

I beg to differ. Jeffwrico worked in the Financial Industry.

His knowledge and record keeping was more than efficient.

He was not in good health. I hope for the best.

There has been no issues on the account since i have started.
This year the account was going very well in terms of sales.

Jeff did gave me adequate info, thats why i was handling it well. But the only info which was not mentioned in notes given or otherwise was SSN.

Please stand me correct if i am wrong ....... I am not a very technical person, however what i understood from (phaz0rz) is that stop trading activities on account till next year 1st quater. and then try again.

If you have 2 accounts in one name do they give you two diffrent notices ? Or is it a total of the 2 accounts
