something evil ebay is doing to me
 

so my awesome adored and loved ebay account went below standard for one month. now its above standard again and everything is good.

but ebay still punished me in the rankings as if i was below standard (being below standard moves all ur listings to the bottom of best match)

so im only getting like 10-15% of my normal sales still.

i talked to ebay a lot and they're trying to help me they couldn't fix it yet.

You really shouldn't rely on 1 account.

How do you know you're still being treated as below standard? Just because your listing is at the bottom on search results does not mean that's because you're being evaluated as below standard. It could be there just because of your conversion rate...etc

Do both of your actual and projected status say you're above standard?

yup they both say im above standard. and ive talked to other ebay sellers that told me as soon as they went back above standard their listings went up again right away.

usually for the cards i sell if you search the name of the card they're all at the top or at least in the top 5.

when i went below standard they were pushed near the bottom. now im above standard but they haven't moved an inch in the rankings.

Yeah, this has been my experience too.

My other observation is that no matter what you do this account will never recover fully.

Whatever they do to it to flag it and push you down in the ratings never seems to expire.

My main account has an actual status of above standard, however the projected status is below standard. The account's status will be below standard for the period from 12.20.2017 until 01.20.2018 and then it will be "Top rated" again starting the 01.21.2018.

Do you think it's a good idea to delete account before its actual status turns into below standard?

The account has total sales of 40k and 2000 positive feedbacks.

ive listed new items to test it and they were put at the bottom too.

Nothing new. Always been this way. Takes a really long time to get back with fixed pirce listings only.

but im above standard now. i did get my status back. i didn't need to do sales with auctions to help my stats to recover.


but its still punishing me, isn't this a different situation?

I repeat, it has ALWAYS been this way. Old news. Nothing new. Fall below standard and it takes months or years if the account ever reaches the same level of sales without using auctions.

If you were not selling in a saturated market, you would not have even noticed being below standard. Being in a saturated market, being above standard after having lower sales volume buries your listings. That is how best match works.

Needs sales to be seen, above or below standard.

so its burying my listings because my sales declined?

i dont know if that makes sense since some months i'd have 500 sales, others only 150, but it never affected my rankings. i always had great rankings.

it looks to me like it just punished my listings from being below standard and whatever they did to me when i went below standard hasn't elapsed.

like I said, always been this way. You are punished. It is how the search result works.

Top rated sellers with stale listings have no visibility on those listings.

okay thanks for your replies.

so even if my sales naturally declined or i stopped selling for a few months i'd be okay. but since i went below standard thats why there's these lingering affects. is that what you're saying?

when i talk to them they're not telling me this is normal. they're saying just be patient and wait.

It is normal unfortunately. You can wait and it can be a really long time.

i wanna switch all my listings over to my stealth account but its only 5 weeks old and im a little nervous to list 75 items at once. also gonna buy the ebay store for it and unsub from my main account.

i think ill just try to let it cool off for a few months and see if its fixed by then.

It's not evil, it's business. And yes it's harsh! It's not hard to get up there, but it's a lot harder to maintain it.

I really suggest you read the stealth guide first if you haven't already done so.

Someone here said don't use just one account... listen to him.
