Internet merchant account vs Paypal

Are there any difference between Internet merchant account vs PayPal ??

By that, i mean, will i still get the amount of sale i do with PayPal

I want to dump PayPal for good.

When i have internet merchant account as a form of payment instead of PayPal, will PayPal users be able to buy my stuff or will i get only buyers who uses credit/debit cards ??

Probably not.

I personally would rather use my PP balance rather than transfer it to the bank, pay my credit card bill, then use my credit card to purchase something online.

And no, if you only have the merchant account, people will only be able to pay by credit card, so no, they won't be able to pay with PP. Why would you think otherwise?

DON'T DO IT!

Removing Paypal will kill your account. Using a merchant account only, you'll get 5-10% of the sales you would get by accepting Paypal payments. It is nowhere close to being worth the slightly more freedom over payment processing you get with a merchant account.

You should only ever consider going merchant account only on an eBay account when the Paypal is permanently dead without any hope of revival.
