google checkout chargeback question

i had a customer over seas buy some stuff from me. i sent it global priorty and it had tracking. the dude got the stuff and then said he didnt want it and was going to return even though on my terms it says no returns. if i dont pick up his return and have all the info from his order will it get charged back what are my chances?

What do you mean "you won't pick up his return".

You mean if you do not refund the buyer? If you have a tracking number he can STILL file a chargeback for "NOT AS DESCRIBED". There is no way around this kind of chargeback.

As for filing a "NOT RECEIVED" chargeback then he can't - because you have proof of delivery.

Personally for me - I charge all my international buyers $35 Express Mail now as well.

so what do i do? if its been recived do CC companies usually do the not described charge back if the item isnt returned? then the customer is getting free items!

If the customer paid by PayPal your screwed. but don't accept the package

anotherebayhater 09-01-2007 08:33 AM

nope paid with google but im not sure what kind of CB it is? i emailed google to ask... im not accepting the package. as far as I have read all around cyber space once a package is delivered it is complete and unless they can prove return they loose. thats what im hoping for.

Chargebacks are not always decided in favor of the cardholder. It's all up to the credit card company, and while they used to be more in favor of the buyer lately except in cases of alleged fraud they tend to side with merchants as long as the merchant can prove he delivered the goods.

And anyway, I've won chargebacks even when charged to my account in PayPal. PP does go to bat for you to try and win the chargeback.

And another thing I feel the buyer should be held accountable for the chargeback fees. I get taxed $25 every time someone decides to do a charge back
