does the Tax ID request go away at the start of the new year? I have about 7-8 accounts that have been hit with that request this past year. And I'm wondering if I can use them again on Jan 1st.
Also, if the account has been limited due to paypal asking for tax ID too many times, will that account also refresh at the start of 2018?
Thanks

The account that was limited will remain limited until you provide the information. Usually after request #3, they limit the account
The other accounts will start over at the new year. However the notification will linger on your paypal for awhile. I typically just ignore it until it's gone
If it's just a tax limitation (opposed to an invoice request limitation or something more harsh), it will reset in the next year. Confirmed on multiple accounts in 2016 & 2017.

I had a different experience on one account either from 2015 or 2016. Once they limited the account, it remained limited. I never supplied any tax ID information.
Did they send you an email stating it was no longer limited? Or did you just go back to business as normal at the start of the year?
Check out the screenshot. This account has been tax limited twice now. There's never an email from Paypal saying you aren't tax-limited anymore. But when you login in the next year the SSN request is gone and you can start receiving payments again.
