Do you use Ebay messaging system?

I know I could reply to customers directly from Gmail, but is there any reason not to use the Ebay messaging system?


I had 2 sales and the customers didn't leave feedback (which is very needed for my new account). I sent both of them an e-mail, but I am afraid that landed in their spam folder.

Is there any danger from using the Ebay messaging system in order to contact those 2 members?

Where did the idea of feedback being needed come from?

I would stop bugging people for feedback. It is the fastest way of getting low star ratings(important) and negative or neural feedback(feedback is not important)

No issues using messager from ebays website.

When I started on Ebay, I noticed that an account with 0 feedbacks would make it harder to pump the listings up in search results. As soon as I had 10+ feedbacks the visibility of my listings improved a lot.

I understand that Ebay claims to be caring mostly about DSRs and seller's status when ranking listings, but I myself think there are some hidden factors they don't reveal.

I spent a few hours playing with the title of a listing and by just manipulating the title I changed the ranking dramatically (at first it was positioned in page #4 and by editing the title a heck lot of times I could eventually reach page # 1). This is not the 1st time I notice/do that btw, I had the same exact experience before.


Some feedbacks would also encourage potential customers to buy from me. Buying from someone with 0 feedbacks seems definitely risky

Others have found no need to be chasing feedback and inviting problems.

Our testing has showing our stats to not need to ask for issues.

Agree with yankee and GB - if you really want fast feedback OP, sell small things with free shipping, start it low cost...feedback will come

I'm guessing the title change that made the most difference was putting the word 'Apple' in the title of your phake cords to get them to show on page 1.

Yes,yes and yes.

Apppe is aggressive with getting listings removed.
