New Stealth accounts suspended at random; listing on first day?
 

I'm quite familiar with opening new stealth accounts: new info, user acct, visa vanilla, prepaid t-m mobile number etc.

Lately, however, one out of every few accounts is suspended or at random after listing first item (it's either used books/novels or used household items). I can't find any link between the suspense sions so I wonder if accounts that sell on the day of opening the account are randomly suspended?

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank You!

P.S. The first 3 accounts created, all got suspended because I did not have a search history/cookies. Others are now randomly selected.

How long do you wait before you start listing? how long is the history you create?
You didn't mention your IP solution. What is it?

I use new ips, using a home modem and router combo (method described in the stealth book) and record each to make sure non are repeated. As I mentioned, I list within a few hours of creating the account, after creating search history, some bids etc. I know book advised to wait 4 weeks or so before listing but I've read many posts on here by experienced users that they list items on the first day. I'm wondering if this is the reason for the random suspensions of the accounts.

A few hours is definitely NOT enough.
As you yourself can see - sometimes youll get lucky and others you will not.
If you want to do things properly wait a longer period of time before you start listing. You will increase your chances of success dramatically.

That was my thought, I was just wondering if those that list first item on the same day have the same experience. I'm trying to make sure that I am not missing anything and not making a mistake somewhere else. thanks for your reply!

Personally, I like to browse and bid for 2-4 weeks before listing.

You are doing something wrong. I list on the same day I verify my accounts....

I did read you saying that on another post empire state. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong? Do you browse items, place bids, add to watchlist or visit the help section before listing? How long (i.e. hours, mins?)?

How exactly do you KNOW it's because of a lack of cookies, or "randomly selected"?

Sometimes something seems random is just because we don't see the bigger picture.

I think it's more likely you're pushing the time limit to the ragged edge, and if you're doing that, you're probably pushing other limits as well.

These factors are all combining to make them fail.

I noticed this too. Things I've done to create new accounts during the regular year haven't been flying during the holiday season. Other posters have seen this too.

I've found it's best to just create the account and let it sit for a little time before doing anything with it.... at least during the holidays. During regular year, I can get away listing on day 1.

Kirkland, this is the other issue I've thought about as well. Nothing I do is different but they were all created during/close to the Holidays.

Dallis, you're right--that is possible. I made that assumption because this is the only thing I did differently with the other accounts in comparison the first three that got suspended right away.

hi, contact them and tell them you are shocked your account was suspended. I got mc113 or whatever the suspension code is on 3 accounts where I started selling immediately and they all got reinstated after I contacted them on the chat and they've asked me some generic questions of my intentions to sell on e-bay and that was it, got reinstated immediately
noticed they do this a lot during the festive periods

some times listing cheap items for too much cheaper prices will also make the account getting limited. at one time i also listed an item which mine was the lowest price from that product in the first page on search results. after a day my account limited. i called and ebay representative told me that i am selling items under the market price range has triggered the system. i didn't sell a ⊗⊗⊗⊗, replica thing . but got limited ....

They really ramp up the security at the holidays. I gave up opening accounts during Nov Dec years ago.

I really think this is the reason. I've been scratching my head and after not finding a good reason concluded it must be the Holiday season.

I list on within the same hour I create my accounts. No history or anything.

Never hand an issue?


Have you even bothered to call in about any of these suspensions? A quick call would most likely fix it.

You should actively pm if you want - don't sit back and wait
