Listing limits, premier account, 1000 items/month

So i have a problem that i dont understand. I have had a premier account for a couple months. Free inserts for a premier account are 1,000 a month. I have always been under the assumption that it renews every month and that the previous months items don't count towards the new months 1,000 limit. But I have been experiencing otherwise. Last month I stopped when I had 37 free inserts left.

Instead of having 37 left by the end of the month I had about a negative 100 and i got charged 10 cent insert fees for about 100 listings. I got charged over $40.

I called an ebay rep and she was very annoyed at me for being confused and kept telling me that it was not a debit but a credit which was strange because all the inserts were being shown on the fees section of my seller account.

Anyways I called back a few days later and spoke to a gentleman who was very professional and explained that the reason I went over the limit is because I had more than 1,000 items listed that month.

Then this month, January, I stopped listing at 500 and have slowly watched my available free inserts go all the way down to zero 0000! So how exactly do I keep losing my free inserts when I am not relisting anything?

And not sure if this affects it but i use the out of stock option because i get to keep my sales/watchers for each item.

Re: Listing limits, premier account, 1000 items/month

I believe what is happening here is that yes, your 1000 limit resets each month, but it works the same as your selling limits do and each time you make a sell from a free insert listing, whether the listing was created that month or any previous month, it is counted towards that limit. When you stopped at 500 then watched it go down to zero, that probably correlated directly with sales..? Otherwise, sellers would have 1k MORE free insert listings each month than the month before.. Ive never subscribed as premier so a veteran member may correct me, but this is what I'm thinking!

Every time a listing renews it counts against your 1000.

You don't get any kind of a credit for unused listings, you pay a flat fee and if you don't use all 1000 you lose them.

Unused listings don't carry over to the next month.
