Re-open previously closed EBay account
 

I wondering about the feasibility of paying back due fees and being able to use my account. My bf and I both sold in same household. We got in deep on fees about 2 years ago and both accounts got closed. His fees were around 2k, mine $900. I had filed personal bankruptcy so could not pay my fees at the time because it would have not been allowed due to the bankruptcy. What are the chances I could pay fees and get account reinstated? I could change address and use different wi-fi. I have been thinking about starting a company for my vintage business so if all else fails could start a new eBay under the new business but don’t want to do anything that might link the two prematurely. Would prefer not to go stealth at this point if it could be avoided. Thanks for any thoughts!

Didn't you discharge this debt in the bankruptcy?

If the suspension is mainly just about the fees, usually once the fees are paid, they'll give you the account back.

But $2000 is huge, I think you should call them and ask them about it first and make an agreement.

I think someone in this forum should also pitch in , since I never get into deep debt like that with eBay.

I’m only planning on paying the fees to reopen my account. Bf is not going to address his account. I’m wondering since we were on same internet if they will shut mine back down by association. I’m planning on changing internet home address and will even be changing my name to my maiden name. Will any of this help?

There may a good chance your BF and your accounts are linked. If that's the case, then the chances of them restoring you even after you pay are in question since your BF's account is not being addressed.

EB/PP doesn't usually link on IP address alone, they can easily make the link other ways, esp. if either of you ever logged into each others accounts from the same computer/browser.

better to buy a stealth or open a new acc, dont trust ebay and paypal
