Giving VAT registration number?
 

Hi all!

OK so I run a stealth account and have been doing so for nearly 2 years now. The details I have on my stealth account dont match the details registered for my VAT registered Ltd Company of which I put the sales from ebay through. I have a concern that recently I had a message pop up about the importance of being VAT registered when I logged in. Apparently this message has been sent to everyone that has gone over a certain threshold. I presume then that ebay are going to request a VAT number from me in some point in the near future. I also presume then that they will check the authenticity of the VAT number and thus the registered directors of that company... How do we stand with this?

So, Today I found my 1k a week account blocked from UK listed ebay, to set the scene I had a UK ebay account, and I had a brain wave 3 years ago, that I should tell them Ive moved, to the USA temporally, as My account was good they changed my account and my address to a stealth virtual office in the USA, so I always had the items listed as UK origin seller in the USA

however I think this has now back fired, Had I had my address in the UK I would still be under the 85K threshold. Ive contacted them today they will not reinstate until there is a valid VAT number

are your accounts still ok? I hope so

I think the best option here guys is to not go over the threshold of £85000 and if get close to that then stop using that account and move onto another account this is the only way I think to bypass this but I’m not too sure I’m going crazy thinking about it someone give some advice please?

Ive been speaking to HMRC, they said as long as you do not sell more than 8500 in 12 months you're ok, ebay, justed asked for ID to unlimit my account, I can provide the ID so hopefully back this week and selling again
