Would Ebay be o.k with this?
 

If I and 3 of my relatives (we all live in the same city) are to open 3 Ebay accounts, would Ebay be o.k with that?

All accounts will be selling in the same categories and all account holders will share the same last name. For sure, all stealth procedures will be followed and from a technical point of view, the accounts will belong to 3 different entities.


I am worried about other sellers noticing that the owners of these accounts have something in common, that is the same last name. If these accounts get reported to Ebay, do you think Ebay will take action?


The accounts will definitely belong to different legal entities, each account with its own address and bank account...etc

I don't know how it is on Ebay.com, but on Ebay.de the account's owner contact info are always displayed at the end of each listing's page. So simply by browsing the listings of the 3 accounts you could figure out the last name thing.

No No, it may work at first however when you’ll get a restriction on anyone of those accounts Ebay will link all your accounts due to address regardless of different user accounts and ip addresses they will also link you from the products your selling don’t bother going this way follow the stealth open accounts on different addresses and names. Lots of people have the same last name, but there'll be different addresses, so it'll probably be okay for a while...

Until one of the three of you gets in trouble and a reasonably intelligent human looks at it closely.

Or until one of your competitors turns you in.

Then you're all going to be banned.

Selling stuff in the same categories - better make sure no listings are similar...no overlapping of photos, etc

Does Ebay ban for guilt by association? All the accounts will be ID-verified and thus it will be clear to Ebay that they don't belong to the same person.

It'll be fine. They all have different info right? So it doesn't matter...

Just don't try to link them up to each other or try to transfer funds from or to each other
