Exclamation UPS Store address for FREE? ALMOST!

Perhaps another too good to be true finding, but I've confirmed this with my local UPS Store.

If you do not wish to spend the money for a monthly box service and only expect a few returns, ask them for their "package only" service. This allows you WITHOUT a contract to receive packages in your name. They charge $3 per box here, but check with your local store.

Each are independent, so do your best sales pitch so you can add your @@@@ name without raising an eyebrow. I would NOT call them, but walk in and have a "chat".

Since most of us DECENT sellers won't have too many returns, this is a great way to get a real address without spending a monthly fee.

As with everything else....your mileage may vary.

Hope it works for some of you.

When you say "$3 per box"...I'm assuming you mean $3. per package, right?

I had 1 item in 6 months come back RTS and most of my listings are final sales anyway.

$3/package too much? Depends on the seller I guess.

Having said that, I think this would be best used for throw away accts.

Yea it depends on the seller and what they are selling. Some may have almost no returns, others may have lots. Either way, excellent find Termed.

You must have a lot of returns if you think $3 is to much. This is a GREAT option for us who use a variation of our real names on our eBay accounts and need a few alternate addresses.

There are 44 UPS Stores in a 11 mile radius of my home.

sounds good especially now that ebay is going to require you to have a return policy.

Lucky you. This is definitely a good find though! Living in a smaller town does have its advantages too. TBO I dont even need to send packages to the registered name on a UPS store box and it will still be delivered to it. No one knows better where this seller is.

Ok, I'm going to share another tid bit here.....

Here's actually how I found about this.

Apparently, UPS Stores do NOT advertise this very much, if at all.

A while ago, I did a search for FedEx drop off locations near me for another business I run. When i get there, I noticed that it was an independently owned location, but is a registered "location" under FedEx.com

Now I've used them for months without even thinking that they might also have a mailbox service. Well guess what? YUP, they have mailboxes for rent! Cheaper than EVERYONE I have seen so far. $11/mo, month to month. (This is a way of me saying, go and check your region for these type of independent locations ).

So I get to talking to the nice lady and I ask her what happens if I don't get that much mail? Could I get a discount?

She goes on to tell me that she has a "package only" service where I don't rent the box, but could use the address. I said, "HUH?". She says, "Yup, I charge $2 instead of the "UPS STORE" cost of $3. I asked "The UPS Store has the same service?" She said "Yes" and was VERY proud to tell me that she was cheaper.

That's when I walked into my local UPS Store and asked them. They did in fact confirm their location had a "package only" service but it's up to the individual UPS Store owners.

So there it is...

Either do the FedEx look up and check for individually owned shops and/or go into your local UPS Store and ask if they have this service.

May the Force be with you...

Have anyone tried to do a change of address with the post office. Just get a real address from your city and mail in the change of address form just in case they ask for ID at the post, but I've been told they don't ask when you fill out a change of address form. And have all mail with made up last name redirected to your real address. This way, it would be totally free.

^^^^^^Someone else brought this up a few weeks back. I think they send a card to your address saying they've received your request. might tip someone off and create a problem. but then again..

OK, this is a Great Thread and a Great Find, but...

I went to 4 different UPS Stores today to ask some questions.

Price: 3 stores said $5. per package and 1 said $25. per package. So make sure you call and confirm the price.

Also you cannot get standard USPS Mail or USPS Packages, only UPS and FedEx mail would be accepted. This would be a problem for anything from eBay or PayPal.

That's weird, I will re-confirm with my local UPS Store.

If what you're saying is the policy for ALL stores,
then this was a waste and my apologies.

The independent mailbox operations that come up under FedEx "locations" might still be an option in larger cities.

In my opinion...it is still a Very Good option if you ship expensive items primarily with UPS and FedEx.

I usually average just 2 returns a year and am always in telephone contact with customers when a problem arises. And never had a problem with them sending a return to a alternate address.

If it is a low priced item, and I don't feel I am being scammed...I just refund and let them keep the item.

I just talked to my UPS store about it, it's $5 at my store. Still a good thing though imo, I think I am going to utilize this.

To those who have looked into this, is TGM2 correct?

Do they NOT accept USPS mail? Only UPS and FedEx?

I'm glad it's helpful to some of you, thought I posted a dud.

Our local UPS store is individually owned and allows me to place my PO Box # from the Post Office. Is this uncommon? The guy there asks NO questions and doesn't have a problem placing ⊗⊗⊗⊗ Ebay names as well. It's kind of like having your best friend working at the UPS Store with one heck of a hook-up. I'm certainly going to check into the "low $ package return" and whatever is discussed I'll post it to read.
Thanks!
