| | | ernest2449 | 02-20-2018 10:02 PM | Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... Hi all! Situation: stealth eBay & PP and have been up and going for about 85 days, 100% seller feedback, no issues. All verified, in good standing, linked bank account, etc. Was thinking of switching over to a basic store subscription to save on sellers fees. Question: Any issues or reasons to be leery of switching over to a basic store subscription?
I believe a similar question may have been asked many years ago, but just wanted to get feedback if anything has changed. Oh and yes, I would be paying for the monthly fee of the store from my PP balance.
Thanks in advance! |

monthly fees for an eb store doesnt worth if you plan to keep a low volume auctions & sales . |
| ernest2449 | 02-21-2018 08:51 AM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... I've had a store on my other real account for many years - it definitely makes sense for the volume, shipping fees, seller fees etc for what I'll be doing. Was just wondering more in terms of having a store in stealth if there's anything to be cautious of |

It's just a subscription between your account and eBay. |

| dachilla | 02-21-2018 09:51 AM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... R u getting a normal subscription or the 2 month free trial they sometimes offer? |
| ernest2449 | 02-21-2018 09:53 AM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... Hmm didn't know they offer a free 2 month trial sometimes. Was just going to do the normal basic level store subscription |
| dachilla | 02-21-2018 09:56 AM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... Then you're all good. |

| dallis | 02-21-2018 10:44 AM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... Makes no difference. You did mention shipping fees, but they're exactly the same whether you have a store or not. And you get no boost in search or limit increase, so don't factor that in either. |
| ernest2449 | 02-21-2018 10:46 AM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... Really on the shipping fees? I could have sworn if going USPS they gave a bit more of a discount, no? |
| yankee | 02-21-2018 11:41 AM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... shipping fee is shipping fee. That is 100% usps and has nothing to do with ebay. If you buy off of usps.com or ebay, the rate is the same. |
| ernest2449 | 02-21-2018 11:42 AM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... Ah, I see. It's been a while. Thanks |
| dallis | 02-21-2018 04:35 PM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... Another thing to factor in, a store subscription is essentially a deal to purchase listings at a 'discount' price.
Keep in mind, however, if you buy in at the medium store level you get like 1000 listings for something like $79. ( can't recall exactly ). But if you only use 250 of them, your effective per listing rate is $.32 each, which is way above what you'd pay to just list them without a store.
Frankly, I find that I get enough promotions that I can in effect run a store for free on a month to month basis. Right now they run another promotion about the time the first one ends, so I'm rarely short of free listings.
Plus, you pay to schedule listings when you have a store, that service is free if you don't have a store.
If you're going to run 5-600 listings a month, a store just isn't cost effective.
You have to move a LOT of product or post a LOT of listings to make a store worthwhile. |
| yankee | 02-21-2018 10:45 PM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... $19.99 is pretty cheap to use the tools a store offers. I would pay the fee just for markdown manger and automatic feedback. |

| dallis | 03-01-2018 02:44 PM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... I quit leaving feedback years ago. Meaningless waste of time. Feedback chasers are almost always small time one shot PITA's.
I get the occasional whiner, I just ignore them.
Unless they're a consistent return buyer I just don't care.
Regular repeat purchasers get whatever they want. |
| TheRealist | 03-01-2018 08:51 PM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... I find it so strange that no one here has highlighted the BEST feature and the only reason I even use a subscription!
Ebay Store subscription have Final Value Fees that go as low as 4%-9%. If you do not have a store, you are paying 10% across ALL transactions. So if your item category falls within the 4% range, then your seller fees get cut IN HALF! or 6% then its about a third less!
You will save a ton of money depending on what you're selling, but either way its capped at 9%! |
| ernest2449 | 03-01-2018 09:25 PM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... Agreed on the final value fees. Makes the most financial sense, my main reason for wanting to get a store |

| greakf3eak | 03-02-2018 04:49 AM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... This is the correct method ...
Leaving feedback only when you got yours one .. |
| dallis | 03-02-2018 09:24 PM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... No feedback is counted as 100% flawless across the board.
Getting feedback allows for a lower rating than 100%.
Also, EB mines the content of feedback comments left for sellers for words and phrases it doesn't like even if the ratings are fine, and counts them against you in search.
Feedback left is nothing but trouble for sellers. |
| Yasav | 03-03-2018 01:13 AM | Re: Thinking of switching to eBay basic store subscription... Has anyone had customers which 1) refuse refund 2) refuse return 3) absolutely roast you in their feedback 4) roast you in messages 5) roast you in product reviews
I had 3 of those from around 1500 last shipments.. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:25 PM. | |
