buying restriction on new stealth acct
 

Hello. So im just using my new stealth account for the first couple days browsing and all that to look like an ebay noob. Then I made a couple low ball offers to automatically get declined. Then I decided to bid on an Xbox one which i knew i wouldnt win ( like it recommends in the stealth book) And after i bid I get an ebay notification that I have a temporary buying restriction and that I can only buy an item that has Immediate payment option. Anyone ever had this? is this a problem?

I believe that's a limit on the listing itself, it's set to 'immediate payment only', probably not a limit on your account, but somebody else may know more about this than I do, I quit buying on EB a long time ago, I just sell there these days.

Xbox is risky. It can also be a foo foo. :eek:

So ebay sets steps to reduce the risk of scamming.

A listing requirement? I was just trying to bid on the item. It said on the stealth guide to bid on Items you know you can't win, just go build trust and all that.

Its been that way for years and is standard. They limit how many auctions you can bid on when the account is new.

it was my literally the first item i bid on. I havent bid on anything else. so its not a limit on how many items i can bid on

Maybe they have tightened the rules. It used to be 1 item. Maybe now its 0 items.

Need help with something you guys may be familiar with! I tried to warm up a new ebay stealth account by bidding on some auction items.

Immediately I got this warning:

You’ve reached a temporary buying restriction.

You can only buy items where you can pay immediately at checkout. To continue, find an item with an immediate payment method and click on the “Add to Cart” button in the listing.

Does anyone know why I'm getting this and how I can get around it ASAP?
