Call To Raise Limits? :/
 

I just sold all ten items that I was allowed to sell... Should I call t see if they will raise my limits? I have 3 positive buyer feedback. Thye won't be able to verify my address though... Help!

It's up to you.

I called twice last week regarding two accounts which limits were 5/500.

One accounts limit was instantly increased by one representative while asking basic questions whereas the secound's limit was increased but only after database questions were asked by the representative.

Just call them, they will increase your limits if their questions will be answered well

Be careful about calling in to request higher limits. A couple times I did that they asked the dreaded database questions. One the 0/0 accounts I wasn't able to restore because they were stealth.

On that one account I haven't tried calling back yet. Not sure that would make a difference. I ended up just abandoning the account, as I had doubts about it. Most of the other accounts which I created myself are working fine.

Those doubts notwithstanding, some of my best accounts have all started as 0/0s. Some reps are more inclined to ask those public database questions than others - I don't think its account specific. Have had better luck with lady reps personally, and also when calling at specific times of the day.

I guess it depends on how badly you want/need it. You do waste some time calling/hanging up to find the right reps... sometimes it's a numbers game.

Did you just state you "weren't able to restore" a "0/0" account?

Because the way this is worded is very misleading.

If the account was created 0/0, you didn't lose anything, you just failed to gain limits.

Just trying to clarify your statements.

To clarify, I wasn't able to restore that 0/0 account because the rep I spoke with wanted to verify the account with public database questions which I failed. Aftert which I was told they could not raise the limits and they would remain at 0/0 until they could "verify" the account holder's identity.

So you started with nothing and after calling, still had nothing.

Meaning you lost nothing.

When professional open accounts most of them are hi limits accounts. Some are 500k limits.

That's actually false.

"Most" are not high limit accounts.

Some are. There's a reason if you check their sales threads, they also sell 5, 10, and 50 limit accounts.

^^No need to reply, GOA. seller0 has been spamming the forum with false information for the past 24 hours. I assume he needed to PM someone.

Just an FYI though, so you're fully in the loop, it's now next to impossible to find "basic" 5/$500's for sale by any of the sellers. Almost all being sold now have starting limits of 100 or more items, for whatever reason..

Reason is easy enough to answer: they're cheap to buy, almost anyone can afford 50 bucks. Plus, in a few months your 5 limit account becomes a 500 item account.

Well is it only from thai sellers that they require id and proof of address to increase to more than 10 listings? The account was created last month and while i am hoping that limits will increase automatically after 30 days, i also worry they stick to the docs request until they end. I have not seen any reports here about ebay asking docs to increase limits.

You are in the land of Phakes.....lol. Should be easy enough to get docs for an account in Thailand.

I know, but you can't find them for sale anymore anywhere. Sellers here haven't updated their threads but if you PM them, none have 5/500's available. Even in Aspkin's shop the lowest limit account currently for sale has a 100 item limit.

It's weird. My guess is it has something to do with the upcoming break from Paypal but that's purely speculation.
