Got one of those fairly typical emails notifying me that my account is being "regularly reviewed" and my listings have been removed.
Only sold three items so far on an aged/seasoned stealth account with 25 previous sales.
This is mostly precautionary right? If I call up, will they ask questions such as what is my social security number or something? Don't want to be caught off guard as I have already invested $1000 or so into this account.
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
Probably won't ask for SSN. Will probably ask for details where you get inventory, do you ship with tracking, what are your plans, etc.
I have seen posters claim to get public record questions sometimes too, to verify the account. Less likely than the supply chain questions, but still possible. So, prepare accordingly.
Being that it's a stealth account, what would I do for unverifiable questions?
I could give them the business EIN, maybe at least it's a half-truth.
I'll also have to be honest and let them know that the account is dropshipping, or at least, that items are being sourced from Amazon. Hopefully that will fly even though the account is relatively new. At least I can promise fast shipping and tracking for every order which should diminish any concern.
Was there an "MC" code you received on the "Temporary Selling Restriction" email?
Not all "Temporary Selling Restrictions" are "Temporary". Some are far more serious than others depending on the code. For example, MC011 is VERY hard to overcome, and in fact I have only been able to get that lifted maybe 10% of the time. The others just require a simple phone call to ask about your products, where you source them, etc.
"We regularly review accounts to keep eBay a safe and fair marketplace for our members. As part of our security checks, we sometimes require a seller to contact us so that we can verify their information.
While we're waiting on your response, we've temporarily placed a selling hold on your account. This hold will prevent you from listing new items. Also, if you had any active listings, we've removed them, and placed them in your Unsold folder. We credited any associated fees to your account.
Once we verify your account information, you'll be able to start selling again right away. You'll also be able to relist items from your Unsold folder by clicking Relist to the right of the listing.
Thank you for helping us to keep eBay a safe and fair marketplace. We appreciate your help in verifying your account as quickly as possible."
Doesn't seem serious but I would hate to make it worse by not properly answering any questions they may have when I call them up. If they are questions about the operation of the business, it should be fine. Any personal questions however could be troublesome, given that it's a stealth account.
Everything was going fairly well until they wanted to ask the public database questions.
The guy wanted to know the previous address of the stealth name.
Obviously, I could not give that to him, and said I could not remember.
I was also told that the account was linked to some person I never heard of. Why are people selling linked stealth accounts here? I paid hundreds of dollars for that.

That's a generic eb customer service message SOMETIMES, trying to give a bogus coverall statement to either block reinstatement or solicit info from a person who knows he/she has been linked...
It seemed to be more than that because they are wanting me to provide a driver's license and bill proving my identity and address. Given that it's a stealth account, I'm toast.
