Can I work from home and do Trust and Safety? | Last time I checked they wanted at least:
- 1 month of prior work experience (hot dog sales cart will do)
- At least a Kindergarten degree (though they will sometimes accept you without one).
- If you have sadistic tendencies, you should mention it. It's a BIG plus.
Also send them a photo of you on your application. Try to look as mean as possible. They will more likely think you're "one of them". |
yoko07 | 09-04-2007 03:38 PM | lol, I would work for those *******s. You guys would have a man on the inside ; ) |

Can I work from home and do Trust and Safety? | No :) There are 3 main contact centers for eBay in North America -- San Jose, Salt Lake City and Vancouver. If you live in one of those cities, apply. You'll need a high school diploma, a bit of Customer Service experience (6 months or something), and have an IQ of higher than 90! Not sure about the US centers, but I know in Vancouver you're hired through a temp agency first for 3 months until you prove yourself and then get hired from eBay directly. Probably a similar setup for the US centers too.
*edit* I believe the San Jose center deals mainly with more technical stuff and not so much CS stuff (GS/TnS/etc). PayPal also has their main contact centre in Omaha. But god, why would anyone want to work for PayPal is beyond me :)
Also, there *is* a work-from home program in one of the US centers I believe, but from what I hear about it is it's very limited and you have to be a top rep and really liked. |

Granted my sister has a masters degree in computer management, but she does not ask for IQ at interviews. |
JackNoMore | 09-07-2007 03:01 PM | Ok here's one for you: If Paypal's main branch is in Omaha, why are they on Eastern standard (or was it Central) time? |

You've gotta do a bunch of basic tests to get the job. Math/spelling/grammar, etc. Here in Van. anyways. |

They just moved to Omaha recently though (or expanded it anyways) so maybe that's why? *shrug* |
anotherebayhater | 09-08-2007 08:33 AM | they wont hire anyone for ebay if you have a suspended acct. :) |

I remember back in the day when I lost my paypal outlaw virginity and got limited for the first time.
I called them and they were in Omaha, NE.
That was 2001 or 2002, though...;)
Did they just expand their Omaha Office by chance, recently? Is that what you are referring to? I'm sure they can afford it with all the money and interest they are collecting from all the limited accounts.
Hmmm fun idea for a thread- visit paypal's offices and they can show you where YOUR paypal money went. Look, there's the gold-plated lavatory faucet I financed for them. LOL!!! |
