Power seller program on Ebay.de cancelled?
 

A while back I wrote an e-mail to Ebay customer support asking them to modify my account's status manually so that I get the power seller status (I fulfilled all requirements at the time except the 90 days condition). To my surprise the employee who read my e-mail did exactly what I asked for and I was a power seller.

Few days later the automatic evaluation took place again and I lost the status because the account wasn't older than 90 days.

I got in touch with Ebay today and asked them to give me that status again as I now fulfill all requirements and they said that the Power-seller program is not used in Germany anymore and it has no effect whatsoever on the account!


Anyone experienced this on Ebay.de? I still see pages about the program on Ebay.de help pages as well as in my seller cockpit!

Did you call to ebay.de support and they talked with you in english or you are good in german language? Cause when I'am calling them, it's always hard to find a supporter which speaks in English. I am not talking about Paypal support.. DE paypal support employers just speak in German.. how was your experience?

Not sure about Germany, but in the US it didn't even mean anything...

I think customer support on Ebay.de is exclusively in German.

Powerseller is meaningless, it doesn't get you any benefits at all, at least in the US. Why bother? Just to get the little star or whatever the logo is?

I just tried looking up power seller requirements for US sellers and couldn't find any traces of it on any US pages either. Has it been discounted here also? Only UK pages still pull up a hit

I know old accounts still have the status though - I wonder if its been closed for new accounts?
