| | | supdawg1985 | 04-14-2018 02:18 AM | Automatic Limit Increases I have an Ebay account that has over 99% positive and has been actively selling for maybe 4-5 months or so.
As more sales are being made, the limits increase automatically. Seems to happen once a month or so.
The last time this occurred however, I only got an increase for the number of listings, not the value. Was strange given that every other raise I received was significant, essentially allowing me to double my sales.
So...
Right now I am at 11,000/$500,000 (up from 10,000/$500,000). Is there a point when automatic increases no longer occur? I'm hoping to be able to list a million in worth soon. |

| dallis | 04-14-2018 06:57 AM | Re: Automatic Limit Increases The larger the limit, the slower your limits increase.
Yes, sometimes they increase the quantity of listings but not the value, it's not abnormal. This usually is a reconciliation of your average sales price being lower than the quantityXvalue total by some substantial margin.
Thinking about getting a million limit on a 4-5 month old account is... optimistic.
In any case you should spread these sales out across a number of accounts. Having all your eggs in one basket is, as all of us can attest, not really the best strategy. |

From my experience, once you come close to your limits, they get raised automatically. If they don't, a phone call with Ebay will do the trick. |

Answer to your question is no, there is not a point where automatic increases stop. They will keep bumping you up right on into the billions if your sales continue growing and you continue proving yourself to be a good seller.

I have been actively selling for 4-5 months but the account is actually almost a year old. It was dormant for awhile (purchased an aged account on this site).
My listings+sales numbers are always pushing the maximum, so I'm doing my best to get the most out of the account while trying to entice a limit increase.
As long as I can confidently expect continual automatic increases in the future, I will not bother calling in on this stealth account. Will just stay the course and let it grow naturally.
Have four other accounts I am also building up, so I'm not wholly dependent on this one in the meantime. |

| Maybe I'm misunderstanding what "listings+sales numbers" means? Are you trying to say that you are SELLING nearly $500k/month, on a stealth account with only 4-5 months of selling history... or are you saying that you always LIST up near the maximum? |
| supdawg1985 | 04-15-2018 01:43 AM | Re: Automatic Limit Increases My combined value of sales and listings are pushing the limit given. I'd love to make that much in sales alone in just a month! |

My combined value of sales and listings are pushing the limit given. | That's what matters.
Keep listing to your limit. :thumb: |

| phaz0rz | 04-15-2018 08:41 AM | Re: Automatic Limit Increases Believe it or not, yes they will.
I never sold anywhere near a billion dollars worth of goods in a month. If you keep maxing it out and being a good seller, they keep bumping you up. Doesn't matter how much you really sell in my experience. What matters is you show them you're trying to use up all of your limit. |

And by a very small amount. | Their algorithm determined he needed a higher item limit but not a higher dollar limit this time around. That's not uncommon for accounts that sell tons of cheaper stuff. He was pushing his item limit so his item limit was bumped. If he were to push his dollar limit on the next cycle, it would probably be bumped up.
I think it's strange how OP was bumped from 1000 to 1100 items instead of 1500 or 2000. Considering how new the account is though I think he's doing great.
I'm sure there was some detail about his account that caused eBay's algorithm to determine he only needed 1000 more items this month, and no more for now. :thumb: |
