New eBay account real info

Hi, I was banned on eBay about 10 years ago on my old address. I now want to open an account using my real details with my new address details, I was hoping that adding my middle name would help me not get linked. It's been about 6 years since I've been at this new address and I can't remember for sure if I've tried to open an account using my current address. Will using my real details with my middle and new address work long term. I want to use real details because I want to add a vat number to the account in the future.

Thanks

You will most likely be fine. Just use middle name as your first name. Don't use same phone or anything else that may link.

Names are not really used to link people must. Address / phone / ip / cookies / bank / are.

If I use my middle name as my first name on eBay and PayPal I'm thinking how I would he able to verify my PayPal when they ask for proof of Id and address? Because then my first name would be missing

Your ID should have your middle name. You would just say you use that as your name all the time. Nobody should want an ID anyway unless you are doing something wrong or risky.

Hmm in the UK everybody has to verify their info with PayPal using their id after they receive a certain amount of monies, I may just chance it and use my first name middle name and last name because of I've never used my middle name with eBay or PayPal before....

When you send your id they will reject since it will not match your name

Best to make account ie if you name is John Smith make it John Smiith small mismatch name works fine and as long as you are on electrol they will verify you online and don't need to send id

So with the small mismatch, like John Smiith I will not have problems submitting my id? Have you personally done this and been successful?

As I said if you are on electrol list PayPal will verify you automatically and will not request id

Yes I'm on the electoral roll, but let's say for some reason they didn't verify my automatically and asked for id would they still pass it or deny it with the slight mismatch name?

Also do you recommend I put my middle name in there too or just mismatch my first name and last name?

The issue you will have will be while adding your middle name adds some variation your first name, last name and DOB stay the same. That would be enough for them to link you to the old account

This always works its not new but many dont know!

you can use your middle name aswell not a problem

but make sure change little bit

ie if the name is harrison ford make it something Harrisan Ford you should be ok

if they unable to verify you get at least 3 chances and if its fail you can simply close account

e2free speaks right about the change in name, maybe even a few more letters
