Can't make any new listings - soft suspension?
 

As title suggests, I can't make any new listings. There is no message or notice of any suspension or anything out of the order.

Anyone had this problem before?

What are your selling limits?
How old is the account?
What message do you get when you try to create a new listing?

I've had it on accounts where the limit doesn't show. Happens when you hit your invisible limit. Going off the details you've given, I have no idea if this is the case for you. :P

If they've linked you to another account they may have combined your limits...

Or you're up against a category limit of some sort.

Did you try clearing your cookies and history and logging back on? Over how many days did this persist?

If you end a listing can you relist another one in it's place?

USA account, 1k/25k limit.

When I try to make a listing "Create a Listing," it just refreshes me back to the same page without moving me to the creating a listing page.

The only issue with this account was approximately 2 months ago when its original PP requested tax ID, so currently it has a PP with a mismatched name. EB, however, is all fine.

This issue is happening again on another account of mine.

When you make your listing and click "List it" instead of actually posting your listing it takes you back to the "Create a listing - Tell us what you're selling" front page. Does this over and over again.

What's the issue?

Create a new user account and log in from there, try again with the blank slate, see if it's related to your history, cache or cookies.

Just tried listing an item from the new user - same problem.

What's causing it? Anyone?

What about the account it's linked to? Can you do anything on it or is it locked also?

Do you have a different device you can try from? Maybe it's something related to the computer you're using?

Couldn't be the laptop since this issue doesn't appear on other accounts that I have.

One thing to note; the current PP that is used to accept payments is not the original. The original one got a tax id request a while back.

Could this be cause?

Awhile back? How long back - could be that eb has updated to deal with that limitation?

Around 2 months ago or so I had the same issue, as the thread shows.

And it ONLY happens, at least in my case, on those accounts where the PP was rotated. In other words, if your PP info doesn't match your EB info then EB essentially won't allow you to make any new listings.

I know it's bad for stealth to rotate PPs but in my category I have listings selling 15-20 items a day (@$15) so I go through my PPs super quickly. I think I'm on my 3rd or 4th rotation by now.

And yes, haha I know it's bad for EB/PP and I'm currently looking into setting up an LLC to upgrade to a business account.

Yes, that's the only explanation that I can think of right now.

3rd or 4th different name PP attached to this EB account, and you're asking why you've got issues? And you waited until post #14 and several different rounds of suggestions to casually drop this critical factor into the mix?

Seriously?

I revise my initial advice. This account and everything it touched is/are dead forever.

Move on.

If rotation isn't allowed, that why is my EB/PP not officially suspended? And instead I have this weird implicit suspension where I can't list anything?

You've been around too long and participated on the forums too long to even ask if attaching multiple PP's with many different names to an EB is a good idea.

Don't get too hopeful. They'll probably get around to a full suspension before long.

Every account all of these EB's and PP's have touched are toast.

Time to move on, and do it right next time.

Always make eb and paypal matching info accounts fresh and clean - don't skip steps.

I never asked whether it was a good idea or not - right from the start I said that I did know that it was not good for stealth. I was just looking for ways to get rid of this soft limit though.

I'll abandon those accounts, as I do agree that they're toasted by now. It just sucks abandoning a 4-month old established listing with a 600+ sold but I guess I have no choice.

Yes, it sucks. Now you have to start all over again from scratch.
