Is there a way to look like you're not using a VPN even when using one.
 

PayPal has hit me with the following line over the phone a few times.

"I see you're using a VPN, we don't allow this and this may be the reason you are having issues sending payments, withdraws, etc."

Is there a way I can spoof the system?

IP assignments are public. They'll be able to look up your IP and see who it's assigned to either way.

The secret is to baby your account and not trigger any manual reviews. All of my accounts run on VPN's and I've never had any problems like this - though I've seen it mentioned here several times.

Not really.

You can try telling them you're using your account on a work laptop/device.

Most large corporations would use private VPNs, and preconfigure work laptops to have an always on connection for the purposes of data security and encrypted traffic. Not only does this keep traffic secure when an employee is at work, but when they take the laptop to work from home, under a VPN that traffic still remains encrypted and secure.

So you can use that excuse and tell them there's no way for you to switch it off.

But to be honest, a well nurtured account wont throw such flags up in the first place, and such excuses would only work if it was a one off. If you're consistently having such issues, there are more underlying issues you need to look at, such as the age of your account, source of payments, how quickly you're trying to withdraw/send etc. etc. etc.

Whoever you talked to doesn't know what they're talking about or the way they worded it was incorrect.

It matters more about the quality of the IP; whether it's flagged for abuse or not.

Which VPN company are you using?

Alright, Thanks everyone for the replies and support. and Yeah I was doing some testing. So I used a couple VPN's in this test specifically PureVPN and Hotspot Shield Elite both of the paid plans for dedicated IP's. Which I am aware are not guaranteed fresh IP's. Continuing on with this test I wasn't bothered with any of the stealth accounts I made, until I decided to see what would happen if I make a stealth account using the free version of these VPN providers specifically Hotspot shield and ofcourse this is where the trouble came. Even though I tripled verified the accounts and they accepted all of the docs, the rep clearly mentioned and I can recall a bunch of reps mentioning in the past that "PayPal does not accept VPN's and I can't use there service with a VPN" which of course I know they're lying but it's not like I can call them on their bluff. I am the one using a stealth account after all.

One other very important piece to the puzzle I forgot to mention is that even on the paid and free vpn services, I always get a VPN saying my location is somewhere in San Diego, California while my account is registered somewhere like Virginia. (With Hotspot Shield You Can't Change The State Only The Country) Does this play apart in my lack of stealth for the test accounts. Also I doubt an excuse of saying "it's a work VPN" would help me, but what do you guys think, any suggestions?

Selling too much, too fast. Nobody knows exact details, but I think most accounts get a manually review at 50K sales or something like that.

The problem with a lot of these big VPN providers is that they heavily recycle IPs. Even if it's dedicated. And dedicated doesn't mean you're the only one using it.. they can have the same IP for 100 other people but still call it dedicated.

That's your problem.

IPBurger you get a dedicated IP and it's just yours; nobody else shares that IP. The IPs are tested for abuse and if it's flagged; we won't use it.

As far as VPN goes.. you need something better than PureVPN for stealth

So even with a Guaranteed fresh dedicated IP, if the VPN is generating a IP location in New York, but the account is located in Illinois this is accepted?

Also does IPburger offer different state locations per my stealth accounts?

I routinely access my US-based accounts with IPs from different states - not VPNs though, real IP e.g. dial-up or other dynamic IP.

Yes, that's fine. All that matters is the quality of the IP and rather or not it is blacklisted. It's easy for an IP to get blacklisted too.. someone using it for spam for example.

IPBurger offers country based IPs. US/UK/CA for example

These are perfectly fine for any account in the same country; location doesn't matter anymore.

Imagine mifi services.. Verizon specifically; a lot of these IPs geolocate to locations outside your state but still in the US. These are fine.

to add an example of what aspkin is saying above, my cell phone regularly shows an IP from Kansas when I am in KY or Grand Rapids Michigan. No idea why but it messes up my market place searches sometimes on facebook.

I learned much today, I think I might start using fresh IP's for now on. Why have I been so ignorant these last 5 years. :noidea:

I might even do some mobile tether too. I never officially used this method for stealth but I have used it to browse the web.
