Anyone ever go to one of these?

I'm afraid if I go I'll see my picture on a wanted poster LOLOLOL!!!

LOl, I've heard of these before. It seems like a noobfest to me.

i was at guest speaker at one in the UK and was very well prepared light projectors, visuals & sounds, audience interactions, Q&A, comprehensive content.

But there is nothing really there you could not learn yourself through time

If you are a true new user - there is a lot of value in the university

I used the experience more as a networking exercise for finding similar folk in my area and it worked very well on that score

Someone I know gave me some sort of ebay kit that had dvds, etc in it...haven't had the chance to watch it yet though. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't covers the types of issues that we are dealing with here:)

Hey I was invited to one of the first Ebay lives, I was in the top 25 sellers in a certain category and they wanted me to do a dance and let them all know how I did it.
Like they really want to see me dance and give out trade secrets....

Now that they suspended me wonder if they would let me be a speaker at the next ebay live !!! :p
I would take them up on that one for sure.

lol comedic. I was invited to one of these too, waste of time in my opinion. Of course, I could be wrong.

Basically, as other people have said, it's for new/newer users who aren't sure how to go about doing things. There's no harm in doing it, but it's nothing you can't learn with reading/research of your own.

It can be good to pick up some good hints from others of course, learn how to build a business on ebay, and network.

im going to take this a step further from what you just said. Its not about networking when you get there all the people there have a mindset that they are out for their own and dont give hints. My sister used to help run those things and trust me its pretty tense there. Very few folks will give you their supplier names and its just not newbies that go there its powersellers that are platinum sellers. I would not pay for ebay to tell me how to sell on ebay......:p I told my friend this and wouldnt listen so he forked his money over to the vegas one about last year and well he said it was a waste minus the vegas experience.

Yup, you get an ebay pen and pencil set and a Life is good with ebay t shirt with your appearance.

They teach you how to play by the rules, make them up as you go along and always, always find someone who is successful and follow them or take away their idea of business.

Sounds allot like ebay employees to me.

anotherebayhater 09-08-2007 08:29 AM

Umm...here's what I said about it "Basically, as other people have said, it's for new/newer users who aren't sure how to go about doing things. There's no harm in doing it, but it's nothing you can't learn with reading/research of your own."

How does that sound like I'm endorsing it at all? Some people here have trouble understanding meanings or something...*sigh*

And no, I've never been to one, just heard about them.

anotherebayhater 09-08-2007 04:37 PM

ebay-sucks 09-08-2007 06:15 PM

I wanted to go to ebay university to get a degree in online psychology.

anotherebayhater 09-08-2007 07:57 PM

i wanted to go to ebay university to learn how to contradict my contradictions and double talk until i didnt understand myself. but the fees were to high so i got a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ CC and went, pretending i was someone else, and got a degree in getting away with everything, but its in someone elses name LOL...

DogFacedBoy 09-09-2007 12:08 AM

I was expelled from EBU for violating the code of conduct...something about wearing non-matching socks.

IOW EBU is as easy to figure out as EB :P
