Question about upgrading to PayPal Business account and EIN and DBA
 

I just received a notification from PayPal to provide tax reporting information. I have exceeded 200 transactions, but I plan to stop selling in this calendar year before I reach 20k.

I am going to file for a LLC EIN from the IRS and upgrade to a PayPal Business account.

On the page to upgrade to a business account, it wants me to put a "Legal Business Name". I'm not sure what I'm supposed to put there and I don't want to mess things up by putting in something random.

Do I need to also apply for something called a DBA? Can I avoid a DBA and get through this with just my LLC EIN number? If not, does a DBA cost money and can someone walk me through the process of making one?

Sounds like you need to talk to a CPA. If you don't know these answers, you need professional help.
