How Is This a Top Rated Plus Account?
 

So my phone just broke and I went to order a new one on eBay. I found this one seller who has the top rated plus icon but I don't feel comfortable buying a phone from him because his feedback is not very good. I checked his history and it doesn't seem to be a recent thing, he has a lot of bad feedback.

Does anyone know how he has maintained top rated?

His DSR meets the requirements and you can assume he meets the sales criteria. About 1 in 3 people leave feedback so 99 feedback x3 = approx 300 sales a month. TRS doesn't mean much more than you sell a lot stuff and you have more good transactions than bad.

So buy from someone else. Phone sellers on EB are like fleas on a stray dog.

When you sell in volume, meeting TRS criteria becomes easy, and as others have mentioned, this seller meets the criteria, hence why they have the badge.

Selling used phones attracts a lot of negative ratings. So I wouldn't be too alarmed with this sellers ratings. There are a lot of negative ratings, but take into account this seller predominantly sells used phones, and that is a unforgiving niche as people expect Grade A phones to be brand new... tough market.
