How refund shipping partially for combined items?
 

I am in the situation where a buyer got multiple items from me but (maybe listing setup was not accurate) he was charged for shipping costs for each item.

I'd like to give him a partial refund since I can combine shipping, is that somehow possible?

Find the transaction in Paypal and send them a partial refund. BAM. Happy customer.

PayPal counts this as a refund that goes against your invisible made up metrics they use to determine whether to limit your account . I always send money directly to them. Dont wsnt my return % going up needlessly in PayPal eyes. I'll take the risk of losing the 5 bucks for shipping as opposed to an account

Can anyone else verify this? A partial refund counts as a refund which is bad? I would think in your case you're doing the noble thing and should be fine.

All I know is I had a rolling reserve applied to my old paypal original account years ago for too many returns. Did a batch of about 100 partial refunds in a month. Called in the rep said my return rate is too high and the partials counted against me . And there is no right or wrong in the eyes of PayPal. Just low or high risk activity
