Anyone used Tor browser? (JUST for browsing)

When I want to look at a listing, I'm *always* suspicious that ebay have got their big brother radar guns on and are desperately trying to connect dots!

Or... I want to sell XYZ product. I will research using my normal login. The 5 min later, I will login using a stealth account and create listing. I'm always worried if the ebay gestapo are watching and waiting and desperately trying to make connections...

I kinda feel paranoid. I'm sure I don't need to worry. (Or is it legitimate concern?)

While researching Linux I came across Tor browser. I never looked into it before. Heard about it for a long time. But now... I think heck... why not!? Use JUST for browsing?

Any thoughts?

Dont do it.
Too much of a hassle and if you get the wrong exit nodes, you can get into a lot of trouble.

For browsing...interesting question.

For selling and account setup/logins, do NOT waste your time with TOR

Your fine to browse items

This is eBay not Amazon :)

TOR is fine for browsing as well but its very slow and you may get timeout issues

As mentioned above it can be very slow.

If you're worried about eBay linking you then set up a separate user account with a VPN & clear cookies in between sessions.

Have you thought about just using a separate windows user account to browse?
It's better that way if you want to be extra careful.

Plenty of other browsers out there for browsing.
I have several browsers on my main PC - one is browsing only and nothing else.

A better solution for you would be to setup a virtual machine, put a VPN on there with dynamic IP, and just browse.

You wont be affected by slow speed of Tor (given the VPN is fast), and so long as you use something like incognito mode, you won't be leaving any cookies behind each time you visit ebay to do your research.

Hope that helps! :thumb:
