Trying to Salvage Ebay Account
 

Have an Ebay account that has been actively selling for half a year or so. Was cruising right along until the PayPal used with it got suspended. Luckily I noticed that another PayPal account of mine has a built up history with this very Ebay account, and I've been using that instead without issue (so far). This PayPal account was created months before the one that got suspended.

Problem now is getting this other PayPal as a permanent fixture with my Ebay account. In order to do so, I will eventually need to provide a tax ID. I was counting on using the EIN for the LLC that was created for this Ebay business, but I can no longer use it as it was tied to the now suspended PayPal account.

Is there anyway I can get a new EIN for my LLC, and just enter that onto the PayPal account I am now operating?

i believe that you can only get 1 ein per llc , so you would have to create another llc to get a new ein

That is what I was concerned about.

From what I know a DBA (for this LLC) could not get it's own EIN either right?

Well thing is you could attach another one, but it's a gamble. Eventually things catch up.

So if you don't mind having this in the back of your mind, then go for it.

Attach another LLC? I'd prefer not having to pony up for another one in order to simply get a tax ID.

I believe that if you do not need to open a bank account with it or do any other official business, receive mail, etc., you simply need to get a new EIN for a new LLC from the IRS website to use for PayPal purposes, but there is no necessity to actually register the LLC with the state.

You don't need a bank account to get an EIN. You can use an existing address to register. I never have registered any of mine. This may differ from state to state, but it's local, not federal.
