The laptop i have was used before an I was banned on 3 different accounts. So far I’m fine with my friends account but the hotspot is super slow!
I tried listing on my laptop and it said I have to call them for security reasons, an they asked my SSN and other things I had no clue about since it’s my friends account. I told them I will call back because my phone was about to die LOL. I can still list but just not bulk listings at once.
Anyways, I’d like to know if I BUY A BRAND NEW MODEM will I be able to use my laptop with my friends eBay account? He doesn’t use it at all and I think it looked suspicious at first because the hotspot.
So if I do purchase a brand new modem can I use the same laptop I had 3 eBay accounts banned on for my friends account he gave me??? New user on the laptop etc.. since it will be a brand new IP?
Thanks everyone so much!!! |
Re: [help] ebay on computer 1. Read the stealth guide
2. 3 ebay accounts banned on the same laptop is very bad linking
3. Stop playing around with your friends account.
All the best as you master stealth :thumb: |

laptop with a hotspot from a brand new cell phone I have
| To avoid any issues, I would use a data dongle.
The reason I say this is because, you may have apps like ebay running in the background on the phone, or you may have something running in the background that will link this new friends account with your old account. Its too risky, I would never do that.
P.S. A data dongle + data Sim, very cheap to run. |

If this is the ONLY network that works for you, i'd consider perhaps using your normal internet + VPN. |

I did advise OP in another thread to ensure his "macbook" has new user account for use with his new ebay account. Hopefully he took the advice, else it would be a quick link. |

P.S. A modem alone doesn't give you access to the internet, nor does a new modem give a new IP. |
| bmwfan | 06-28-2018 06:04 PM | Re: [help] ebay on computer Oh sorry. I guess I got it all wrong. What I was thinking was to use my laptop by buying a new router/modem because i thought that’d give me a new IP. What I do currently is turn on my hotspot using cellular data on my phone and then connect to that from my laptop. |

Just make sure nobody else (and your phone) is using the internet at the same time, as again, it can link ebay accounts if they login too.
If thats not possible, go the dongle route. If it is, just figure out how to get a new IP with what you have already. Usually rebooting/restarting the modem/router does the trick. |
| bmwfan | 06-28-2018 08:21 PM | Re: [help] ebay on computer What exactly is dongle? Sorry I’m a newbie. And I would restart my router/modem but I’m afraid the new IP address it gives has been used before on the past 3 banned eBay accounts. |
