GDPR - asking ebay to remove information

Hi guys,

Quick query, anyone have any idea if you ask ebay to remove all information that they hold on you, do they do it? Legally other companies must do this, whats the story with ebay?

Unless there are legal reasons for keeping it then they have to remove it under law.

Re: GDPR - asking ebay to remove information

I can't imagine that happening under any circumstances.

GDPR gives individuals the power to get their personal data erased in some circumstances. This includes where it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected, if consent is withdrawn, there's no legitimate interest, and if it was unlawfully processed.

As EB is required to report income to the government and data other agencies, it will always have a 'legitimate interest' and a 'necessary... purpose' to retain your identifiable data if only for those reasons.
