Should I buy a stealth account?
 

Hi guys! As you may have heard paypal is going to begin using Adyen as main payment processor on September and indicated that it will require ssn to verify identity of a seller which is obviously not stealth-friendly. So I was wondering if I should still try and get a stealth account or should I wait and see how things played out? Any suggestion is welcomed. Thanks!

I would create some stealth accounts and store/age them for winter

All depends how immediate your need is to sell on Ebay.

The role out of Adyen is going to take many months / years and no one knows at this stage exactly what is or isn't going to be possible.

So you think that I would still be able to operate the stealth account even after the adyen roll out?

My intention is to immediately sell on ebay after going through the usual familiarizing the account with the new device process. So you think I should go ahead and make a stealth account anyway?

The highlighted part is what im interested in. If they will still accept PayPal, can I just use PayPal and now Ayden?

Yes I am completely aware that paypal will still be an option till 2023. My concern is the fact that adyen would be the main payment method and would implement a identity check that requires SSN just like etsy does which still accepts paypal

From what I am seeing, if they do it like Etsy, you should be able to get an LLC and EIN instead of using an SSN. This would allow you to still do stealth, but a slight added cost. However, if they do this, a lot of foreign sellers should be knocked off the market, which would make that added cost worth-while.

Hmm let's see from what I've seen around the forums, Etsy would still ask for id to verify your identity if you only submit ein. I don't know if this is the case since I have not used Etsy.

@OP, learn to make stealth accounts and make a few backups
