Make offer or buy it now

Hi everyone, I see some listings have make offer or buy it now underneath them - when I click on them theres the options for "submit bid" or "make an offer"........yet on some of my own auctions which are buy it now with the option to submit an offer, I see "buy it now" or "make an offer". Can someone explain why ebay is labelling submit bid/make offer auctions as buy it now when there is no buy it now option?

"submit bid/make offer" are not an auctions, because auctions means offering the item up for bid, taking bids, and then selling the item to the highest bidder automatically.

But for the making offer option on buy it now listings gives the possiblity for a buyer to propose a price, and you have the possiblity to accept or refuse the offer. And the buyer can also buy the item without sending any offer at all.

Whats the difference between them though?

I think they are auctions because if you put the minimum bid in on the "make offer" ones, the make offer disappears?

When you do an auction, you get the option to buy it outright BEFORE a person bids on the item - Meaning they do not want to take a chance of missing out on the item.

With Buy it now / submit offer - You dont want people bidding on your items but there is a minimum you are willing to take and the BIN price is what you will actually take for the item.

With the submit offer, you will get a lot of low ballers looking to resell your items most of the time.

Ebay likes to attempt to force you to use them lately (Submit offers)

This seems to be a rational decision.
