eBay requested a hold on the funds from your sale
obviously this is new...
but do you think this is a good thing? I'd much rather have ebay hold my funds then paypal? maybe this will prevent crazy limitation from paypal? probs gettings my hopes up but you never know... |

eBay holds aren't new - it's just showing them differently in PP now. You've always been able to click on your pending funds, and it would show you how much is held by PP and how much is held for eBay.
One of my accounts has this type of holds and I haven't had any issues yet. |

auction ends on ebay...buyer doesnt pay....one week later paypal limited....call up paypal says it was the item i sold (didnt even get PAID) LOL total fail. |

No this is new, on new acct states ebay has a hold abd paypal is limited and asks for invoice and photo id. Quote:

It's really not new. As long as I've been a seller there have been separate eBay and Paypal holds.
This is how it looks for me. If you look at the top right, there's no limitations on the account. https://s22.postimg.cc/vl9j50s9d/Untitled-1.jpg
If you click the dollar amount by where it says "ON HOLD" you're taken to the same pending payments page it has always taken you to. https://s22.postimg.cc/fa9f8pnhd/Untitled-2.jpg
If this were an account that still had Paypal holds there would be a 2nd amount listed under where it says "eBay payment." It used to say something like "eBay non-performer" for holds requested by eBay and "Paypal hold" for payments held by Paypal on a new account. |

I had an Ebay hold recently, and one minute later an email from Paypal saying my account was limited. |

eBay holds are NOT new. eBay has long had control of the funds on sales transactions.
Be aware there are two types of holds:
Those imposed by eBay.
Those imposed by PayPal.
Usually EB will specify when holds are to be implemented, which is usually 21 days on the onset, but is usually adjusted downward once valid tracking is uploaded. This hold is then sometimes decreased again to 2-3 days after the item is confirmed to be delivered.
Of course, PayPal can always overrride thise holds depending on risk factors.
But, mostly EB tells PP how long a hold should be on a given sale. |

No ID request as of yet. It’s literally a brand new account 60 small sales £5.99.
The first 20 sales were instant, since then its 5 hold transaction, then 1 or 2 instant payments.
