Brand protection Ltd
 

I am so confused, I sell an item on e.bay which has just received trademark violation strike and I had no idea it was trademarked at all.

I was selling a mug with the popular AH! the element of surprise style design. Is this actually owned by someone? I thought it was just a regular old slogan that everyone uses.

Anyway, the agent acting on behalf of the rights owner is a company called Brand Protection Ltd. Is this a thing now? Any old slogan can be taken down by this company as trade marked? Or does this actually belong to some TV show or something and I had no idea?

I know it's now classed as Ve RO so there is probably nothing I can do, but is it worth calling e.bay and asking about this?

What would you ask ebay?

Brand Protection do exist. They have a file with Company House. Think their head offince is in London.

Give me a couple of mintues. I’ll check something.

Well I was wanting to know what it's trademarked to, and apparently they are Australia based? Or at least the email provided suggests so.

That slogan though, like I said I can't see how it's trademarked but maybe I'm just not doing the right searches. It just makes me worry about other slogans that seem to be ok to use, I didn't even sell any of these things but my account now has a strike because of it. How lame.

I tried checking an OZ government site for trademarks.

It was offline for maintenance
