Last month when sellers reported back from eBay's seller conference with the news eBay would not allow beta participants to offer PayPal, it raised some eyebrows.
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
You're acting like it's your only option, iamlmfao. ^^
Stop using Paypal now then and switch to a merchant account if you hate them so much. There are 4 other processors you can use on eBay. You'll learn to love Paypal in no time. For one, they purposely allow us to operate an unlimited number of accounts. Not really something you can do with any other credit card processor. :/
90% of buyers use Paypal. I would advise sellers not to opt into Beta program as you cannot accept Paypal payments and you wont be able to opt out of the program. Why do Ebay have to Beta test this system live, where Etsy didnt.
Extremely poor management at Ebay. The sooner Wenig goes the better.
Adyen processes/accepts PP on ETY. There's really no reason EB couldn't allow it also. The code's already been written, there's no infrastructure requirements to put in place, it's as easy as toggling a software switch.
They're trying to figure out what the costs will be to ditching PP altogether.
Its not just the sellers conforming though - its the buyers too who will now need to adjust to a new way of doing things AND input their credit card information in yet another place. I for one see this as being an issue for many buyers. Im betting this will have an overall adverse effect on ebay in general and on the volume of sales it sees. At least in the short to medium run.
