SKU Limits Ebay?
 

Hi Guys,

Has anyone has a message from Ebay like this before?




Hello,

Your SKUs will be subject to our fair use policy from August 2018

We’ll start charging a fee for each of your SKUs over your maximum of 85,000 on eBay.fr, 90,000 on ebay.de, 85,000 on ebay.es and 210,000 on ebay.co.uk .

Buyers are more likely to make a purchase when they can find what they’re looking for quickly and easily.
Our fair use policy applies to sellers with a very high number of SKUs, most of which haven’t recently had a sale.

If you don’t remove your excess SKUs by the end of August, we’ll start charging a fee for each SKU above your maximum limit per ebay-market as shown above for (store name). That means you’ll pay a monthly fee of £ 0.01 for each of these SKUs, up to a maximum of £ 10,000.00 per month, per site.


We have spoken to them via phone and they have said many sellers have been affected. I am not so sure about that as I many in same situation have not been affected.

In regards to 'not had a recent sale' we remove those listings periodically so its not that.

Worth dropping a message on here to see if anyone has had a similar issue in the past month.

Yea, they do charge it is best to see what is the most viewed or searched and then use that SKU

The issue is the charge is 14k per month haha.

Do you know if these limits are imposed in the USA?

As I called Ebay USA business team and they have never heard of it.

I'm guessing its just a Europe thing?

By what the UK business team have said its a new limit brought in July 31st that has affected lots of sellers with large multi variation listings.

No, fortunately it is not in the US. So you can "expand" your business into the US.

Looks to me like it only affects eurpoean eBay marketplaces.

You can always open multiple stealth accounts to get around this. ;)

Amazon does something like that in the US. If you have a high number of SKUs that are not selling, the idea is that you are not actively curating your inventory, and just throwing **** up against the wall to see what sticks, so they charge you for SKUs that do not sell.

At 0,01 per SKU, that's 1.4 million listings.

It's very strange, as it seems different sellers get different limits.

And there's no info on ebay rules about this fair use policy..
