MC011 - Invoices for old items!
 

Got the MC011 on an old legit account.

I sold some branded items like hard drives and apple airpods nearly 6 months ago that I had picked up cheap. I woke up to a random email from eBay today looking invoices for them, for which I no longer have.

I was thinking of modifying an Amazon invoice and tell them I dropshipped them? Is that a stupid idea? They'll know I didn't buy airpods from a weird makebelieve wholesaler either.

Bearing in mind I haven't sold anything on this account in 4-5 months.

Why are they asking for them?

Do you plan to use the account again?

Don't know - it's just the generic MC011 email asking for ID and proof of purchase.

Yes I'd like to use the account again as it's legit and never had issues with it previously. What's your thoughts?

The MC011 is notoriously difficult to pass. Usually it means they have questions about what you are selling and looking for SUPPLIER information they can verify.

If you just send them receipts/invoices that is unlikely not what they are looking for. They want to see some "proof" you are a legit reseller of the goods you are selling.

You need to research legit resellers for those items and order some of the same item(s) you are selling from them, then take those orders and use them as templates to "get creative".

Thanks for your replies. I called in and they said just send through the bank statements showing they were paid for and that's fine. I don't know if the rep is correct, but might be worth a try?

Yes yes it is 100% worth the try. From my understanding, eBay is much more lenient than Amazon when it comes to such process.

Send them what they asked for and I am positive that the account will get unlocked again.

Yes, it's worth a try, but what I'd do is go back to the place you got it from and ask for an invoice / receipt.

This is why you always want to treat ecommerce as a business... a REAL business.
You don't just dabble because this is not craigslist.
