Account Restriction - Resolve Paypal cases

So I have an ebay account restriction. They are stating I have to resolve all ebay cases which I have already done.

They also want me to resolve all Paypal cases which is the problem. I have this 1 Paypal chargeback case that has been open for almost 3 months.

I asked paypal to just close it out and refund the buyer , but they say they cannot do it since it's a credit card chargeback/dispute.

Anybody else have experience dealing with this?
Even the paypal rep thought it was ridiculous because the paypal cases can go on for 60-70 days or longer. this particular case has been open for about 10 weeks now.

So they say they are awaiting the credit card companys decision on this case, which can take up to 100 days. This is the most ridiculous crap Ive seen yet. Insane.

I know the credit card disputes can take a while, but for ebay to restrict my account knowing it can take 3-4 months to resolve a paypal case is absurd

It is crazy and sadly, PP is know for this kind of nonsense - very tough to fight a chargeback

They specifically told you the chargeback needs to be addressed? Are there any other disputes open in your Paypal account that aren't chargebacks?

If you contact the buyer and talk to them nicely, they might withdraw the chargeback.
It can be done.

Re: Account Restriction - Resolve Paypal cases

yea they said All paypal cases need to be resolved, which I have 1 open which is a chargeback.

I have to wait up to another 4 weeks for this case to be resolved.

I know it's normal for paypal, but for ebay to Restrict my account and make me wait months for a chargeback is insane.

The buyer stated unauthorized transaction, they did not open an item not as described dispute or anything that would have been my fault directly.

Re: Account Restriction - Resolve Paypal cases

Credit Card chargebacks can take a VERY long time to resolve. I've had a couple that were open for over 3 months (90 days) before they were closed. Nothing you or PayPal can do about it because those cases are in the hands of the card issuer.
