Ebay Selling Restriction On My 1st Listing
 

I bought an account from one account seller on this site over a month ago.
1st i couldn't bid on items when i tried to (says i can't bid but i can 'buy it now). I contacted the seller, no response. Today, i tried to list my very 1st item...a cheap 'non-designer' makeup i have in the house. But i get the message that 'there is a temporary selling restriction on my account', and to contact customer service to verify my info. Please is there an easy way around this? Anyone experienced this before? How did you get around it? The account seller seems to be ignoring my messages.

They just want you to call in and discuss your selling practices. It's usually an easy restriction to have lifted. This has happened to probably half of the accounts I've ever sold on after the first listing attempt.

When it happened to me I would just contact the account seller and they would call in for me. If an account seller is blowing you off you may need to contact JamesNorth101.

If it has been days and you have tried contacting the seller multiple times, you can PM me the seller's name and I'll try to help you.

was the picture you used a stock photo? this can cause the temp restriction on an account. but as mentioned above this is usually an easy call in to ebay

I have found another thing that can sometimes trigger the temporary selling restriction upon selling the first item is using a virtual phone # (such as Google Voice) and/or a bad IP address. This is why you should avoid using a free/low cost/popular VPN service.

Lifting the temporary selling restriction can be as easy as them asking what you are selling, if you have those items in your possession, and confirming your personal info. A few times they may ask database questions from public records such as your employer, past addresses, make of your car, etc.

For me, it's a 50/50 toss up if you'll be asked the public database questions or not.

1st item of makeup might also cause issue - health and beauty category is kind of risky.
