LOL Got to Love it.

Message from Ebay

Hi Robert,
Congratulations! You've been doing a great job selling on eBay, and we've noticed. How would you like to list even more? Now you can.
Here's how much you can now list every month:

Message from Paypal

Due to changes in your activity we have limited your account, please provide invoices, proof of fulfilment and Picture ID
Then: Account permanently limited.

Don't you just love it.

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

No, not really.

Looks like you sold too much too quickly. eBay loved it and Paypal hated it. Pretty standard.

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

Anything you do to please eBay will usually annoy PayPal

Its hard to get the balance right!

Kajunrook 10-26-2018 07:51 AM

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

Well I listed slowly,
1st month $60 in sales

2nd $110

3rd $130

4th $150

Fifth month a guy bought 4 of 4 different items and total was $120, INSTANT LIMITATION

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

It's crazy how hard it's getting to work with Paypal. That's taking it insanely slow and you still got limited after 5 months. I'm just thankful larger payments like that don't kill older accounts, or I'd be out of business within a week.

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

What was your quantity of sales each month?

Frankly I'm really annoyed for you. And the rate you are going seems to be fine. Hell it's a lot lower than what I do to my new accounts.

phaz0rz 10-26-2018 09:36 AM

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

In all seriousness Kajun, this probably had a lot more do to with the items you sell than your sales volume over 5 months. You're still selling those highly profitable things you were selling before, right?

Kajunrook 10-26-2018 09:51 AM

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

Only about 10% the other items were not, and the guy that bought$120 worth bought no trademarked items.

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

Ah, nevermind then. Probably just Paypal being skittish about new users. :(

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

Looks like its time for you to sign up to eBay's new method of payment Beta program with Adyen and cut paypal out of the loop.
I wonder if that is one of the considerations for ebay when they decided to go this route and part ways with paypal as their main payment processor. Certainly seems to make sense.

nickopedia 10-26-2018 11:21 AM

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

What makes great sense is when your eBay account gets suspended and continue to get lots of seller offers; free listings, promos and the like.

At EB/PP the laft hand often doesn't know that the right one is doing. Logic is defied.

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

So here is the deal, my main account got toasted forever, my back up account got paypal limited. My main accounts paypal is still good and I could sell $5000 on it with no issues, EIN attached and everything. So I migrated all of my none vero items to my backup ebay (which by the way just got allowed listing to raise to 240 from 120 a month $12,000 the day after I lost my paypal. Attached my rock solid paypal from suspended ebay account to it. Changed email address on paypal (added email weeks ago) and resumed selling, will sweep all but $50 from paypal daily. Already got 5 sales.

Odds of Kajun being approved are probably around 1 in a million.

Yeah, really lol...

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

I paid my first adyen seller today, I'm pretty sure. It didn't give me a Paypal option and the guy wasn't using a merchant account - so I assume that had to be adyen. He had an obviously phake item listed for an unrealistically low price, with a feedback of 2.

So maybe the approval process isn't going to be so bad. :noidea:

SaiJin 10-26-2018 02:07 PM

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

From what I've seen the approval process is typical.
Tax ID, Driver's license, bank account.

Re: LOL Got to Love it.

Noted. I started thinking about what I had to do the last time I had to be "approved" by a payment processor (TSYS), and got worried about having to be "approved" by eBay.

My opinion is that it won't be like that. Adyen processes payments for other big companies and I highly doubt they'd take in an exclusive eBay system.

From what I've seen they are just like other processors.

More like, it's going to be how it is with other sites that already use Adyen (etsy, uber, etc..). But yeah I understand what you mean.

Because other processors are the ones that require extensive information about your business and your personal credit during their application process. I applied with Wells Fargo and TSYS and both of them needed a stack of paperwork a half inch thick.

Hmmm, this is interesting.

Typical Merchant Account underwiting is pretty tough, usually involving a credit check and other verifcations so can't use foofoo docs to get approved.

Some other people here have said Adyen takes a couple days to approve, but it's not clear exactly what that process entails. I would assume they are going to at least ask for EIN/SSN and verify that with 3rd party sources. That of course means no "stealth" account(s).

Hmmm.... I wonder if it's because I have an established business account and I know the bankers. I never had to provide any kind of documents, they just ask me to sign the papers and off I go.

Regardless, I hope adyen won't be like your wells fargo process.
the one thing that does worry me a little is when the CS told me it could take up to 7 days, but she refuses to tell me why and what kind of things they are actually doing that it takes that long.

She said usual turn around time is about 3 days.

I thought it was a reference to the Smashing Pumpkins song..

Turns out that song is called "1979" though. :/

The value was fine. I think the issue must of been the items you were selling potentially being risky from PayPals point of view.
