Any advantage to opening eBay Store?

I was thinking about opening an ebay store, just wondering if there was any advantage to this. I think maybe the fees are cheaper??

For a store to really work , you have to have alot of listings or be selling a product that there is very few of on ebay ... and most usully use a 4 or 5 to 1 ratio for store listing to auction style to get the traffic in the ebay store .I currenlty have about 3200 listings and 2500 are in the store 200 are auction/bid style and 500 are 30 day fixed price auctions broke up or 4 weeks to get equal exposure.

3200 listings!?!??!? Geez!

you dont have to have 3200 but probaly need about 50 or so ... but if they still charge the monthly fee you need a few to offset the cost - the listings are chear 5 cents or less if it is under $50 ..

The good thing about a store is you can open a SALE category and list a load of cheap stuff with free shipping on BIN with immediate payment that will be attractive to people looking to build fb in the way e-books used to be. This is particularly useful for keeping your fb and DSR up if you are a lower volume seller. Some of the people who buy may not really be interested in the product and even tell you not to bother shipping it. But make sure you do have product to cover yourself.

Big stores and supermarkets call this kind of stuff "loss leaders" and they use it just to get footfall. It can be useful if you manipulate it properly.

eBay stores are definitely worth the money. The selling manager breaks down EVERY transaction and categorizes it accordingly. Theres even a spot to tell you which items are eligible or not for a FVF credit. A seller has already saved over $80 in fees due to unnoticed eligible items.

On top of that, it makes your whole listings appear more legitimate. Not that theyre not. But having a store gives you an "established" look.

I could go on and on about the positives a store can do. The last one is probably the most important.

Google Base ;)

For $15/mo, its worth a shot to try it!

I agree with Orion. The selling manager really help keep track of all your reminders such as FVF, Best Offers, Items Paid, Messages and many more all on one page.

It's only good to have a store if you sell over 100 items a month or you have a lot of RARE items that only certain people look for that can save you on the listing fees by putting it in your ebaystore. Checkout Why Open an eBay Store

I don't think they offer the Free month trial anymore. Or you can wait until they offer it again to sign up. I remember it use to be only $4.95 when they first started it and then they raised the fee up to $9.95 and now it is $15.95 a month. I've been using ebaystore from the begining and it is worth every penny despite the increases.

But anyways, I use to pay $99 a month for Andale service which is now Vendio but I have since canceled their service since ebay made a lot more improvements and features with their ebaystores.

Hope this helps.
