Anyone notice an increase in VERO Takedowns?
 

Anyone notice a HUGE uptick in VERO takedowns this week? I have had 2 stores suspended and one store closed just these 8 days of November. Items I have been selling for MONTHS without issue are being taken down left and right. I relist in another store and they get taken down immediately. I usually get maybe 5 VERO takedowns a month but I have had about 15 in just 8 days. Any thoughts? :suspicious:

Yea me too, tho the accts suspended had past due balances, but I did pay afterwards. Listed after, sold a couple and then they took down my account. The new ones are ok tho, cross fingers

I notice that at this time of year both EB/PP seem to become a bit more strict than usual. I had a couple listings removed for some vague reason even the eBay reps were puzzled as they fully conformed with policy. Most of the take downs are not done my eBay anyway, but the VeRo agent, or the representative for a brand. I have ways of overcoming it, but it usually results in a drop in sales.

Christmas and Black Friday are coming - scrupulous customers and competition getting stiffer as well

VeRO = Verified Rights Owner.

The Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) program allows owners of intellectual property (IP) rights and their authorized representatives to report eBay listings that may infringe on those rights.

Some brands have their own agents, or hire an IP management firm to act on their behalf. These people have the power to remove listings they view as "infringing".

As I mentioned before, eBay removed very few listings themselves. The majority of them are taken down automatically by bots, others based on 3rd party reports, and others by agents (such as the aforementioned VeRO people)

Manufacturers/Rights Owners always crack down on unauthorized and/or counterfeit sellers this time of year as they ramp up for the Christmas season.

They want their legitimate distributors to get the sale, not you.
